LUMITECH as an Austrian worldwide market leader in the health sector
In its current July/August 2018 issue, the Austrian business magazine "GEWINN" reports on Austria's 100 worldwide market leaders across all industries. LUMITECH is one of them: in health, PI-LED technology offers the optimal basis for health-promoting lighting.
Human Centric Lighting is, as at light+building 2018 in Frankfurt, Germany, the top topic of the future. The importance of light for health and well-being is substantiated by, among other things, the Nobel Prize for Medicine, which was awarded in 2017 for insights into the circadian rhythm (the "internal clock"). LUMITECH has been dealing with this topic for more than ten years and has created a milestone in the history of Human Centric Lighting with the development of PI-LED technology.
"The more artificial light resembles natural sunlight, the greater the positive effect on the human biorhythm," says Dr. Stefan Tasch, founder and CEO of LUMITECH.
Thanks to years of development, PI-LED (standing for Phosphor Innovation-LED) can control an excellent colour temperature range from 1,800 K to 16,000 K at a constantly high CRI >= 90, thus enabling an almost exact reproduction of sunlight and the blue sky. "This is important, because never before have people, due to work and health reasons, been exposed to natural sunlight so rarely as today.", Tasch knows. "For this reason, Human Centric Lighting is mainly used where people spend most of the day: in educational institutions, at work, and especially in health care."
The multi-award-winning and patented PI-LED technology helps patients to recover thanks to its geographically adapted daylight course and individual blue channel control, and has already successfully found its way into the complex field of basal stimulation. LUMITECH's reference projects include, among others, the UKH Kalwang (AT), LKH Klagenfurt (AT), LKH Bruck/Mur (AT), LKH Salzburg (AT), LKH Hall (AT), LKH Copenhagen (DK), Psychiatrie Vejle (DK) and Psychiatrie Trondheim (N). "Many of our projects are implemented in close cooperation with our subsidiary KITEO, which specialises in Human Centric Lighting, and a transnational partner network", explains the founder of LUMITECH.
Numerous licensees such as Seoul Semiconductors, Philips, Osram and Tridonic (Zumtobel) have already recognised the enormous competence of the Austrian PI-LED technology and are relying in their latest projects on the Human Centric Lighting pioneer from Austria, because as the largest trade fair for lighting and building technology, light+building, already revealed in March 2018, Human Centric Lighting is the lighting topic of the future when it comes to people's health and well-being.
